Meet Elisa Hannan, DMD, MD

Dr. Elisa Hannan was raised in Upstate New York. As a former year-round athlete, she had first-hand experience suffering facial trauma and learned about the immediate impact a maxillofacial surgeon can have on one’s image and self-esteem. She has always had a passion for sciences and art which drew her to oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Hannan graduated summa cum laude from Le Moyne College with a biology major and chemistry minor. She then graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. She continued to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her medical degree and completed a six-year residency program.

Dr. Hannan’s professional interests include both office-based and hospital-based surgical procedures including dental implants, extractions, pre-prosthetic surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology (cysts and tumors of the jaws), facial cosmetics, gender affirmation surgery, and corrective jaw surgery. She has participated in research focusing on management of pain after third molar removal while minimizing opioid use as well as benign pathology of the jaws and surgical management. She is an assistant professor and enjoys teaching the University of Connecticut surgical residents and has privileges at Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Hannan is proud to serve the northern Connecticut community with empathy and expertise. She is committed to treating her patients with respect and providing excellent care. Patients attest that they appreciate her compassion, reassurance, communication, and warm approach throughout consultations and during surgery. She takes great pride in guiding patients through each step of their treatment and embracing their positive post-procedure results. She would like her patients to know that they are in skilled hands with her and her highly trained team.

Dr. Hannan lives in the Farmington Valley area with her husband, Pete, son, and dog, Cali. Together, they enjoy spending time in the great outdoors by hiking, biking and snowboarding.
